If you want an animal experience with a difference, the Critchlow Alligator Sanctuary might just be what you need!

See at this Michigan experience, it's a zoo with a difference! All of the reptiles and amphibians here have been rescued, so every animals has a story! Kids can not only learn about the creatures themselves, and their habits and habitats, but they can also understand what it means to look after animals. It's so important we look after them in the wild!

All of the animals have been re-homed here to the sanctuary, and any that were hurt have been looked after and rehabilitated.

There are so many great exhibits within the Critchlow Alligator Sanctuary too, that kids can really get a taste of different species and landscapes!

You can say hello to Godzilla, the 30 year old alligator in his swamp, or you can see all the baby alligators in the nursery. In the greenhouse, explore under the canopy of tropical plants and see a host of wildlife, from tree frogs, to praying mantis, and even giant toads!

There might even be the giant African Tortoise digging his over tunnels and caves on the plains, and straight from the Australian wilderness you will see the Bearded Dragon.

The sanctuary also offers hands on opportunities as well as observation, particularly in the programs which are pre booked.
