Cox Science Center and Aquarium
About Cox Science Center and Aquarium
We all know science can be fun, but at the Cox Science Center and Aquarium, you can realize it first hand!
This great Palm Beach attraction for kids is the perfect place for them to spend the day using those imaginations, learning about the wonders of the world, and of science, and discovering new and wonderful things!
There are a number of exhibits within the center that can immerse kids in something completely new! How about we start in the depths of the ocean, with the 3,000 sq ft Aquariums of the Atlantic exhibit! Here, kids can come face to face with beautiful native fish, as well as some that have actually invaded the habitats of Florida.
Kids can see artificial reefs, learn about the open ocean, and discover the environments of the everglades!
The largest exhibit is Shipwreck Cove, where sharks, eels, and even lobsters call home! The perfect way to explore the ocean and you don't even have to get wet!
If the sun is out (and when is it not in Palm Beach!) why not head on out to the Conservation Course, which is an 18 hole mini golf course designed to educate those who play on the natural habitats of the state! Each hole is named after animals and habitats indigenous to South Florida, and it takes you through lush greenery, brooks, and butterfly gardens - we love that!
A visit to the planetarium can give you an out of this world experience too - in fact, it's the ONLY public planetarium in Palm Beach County! There are daily shows that cover a range of topics, and really give kids an experience to remember!
So why not head on out to South Florida Science Center and Aquarium for that special family day out, where kids can have a great time AND learn - sounds too good to be true!
