Journey into the heart of the famous Florida Everglades ecosystem with the Corkscrew Swamp Sanctuary!

It's a beautiful way to get the kids into nature, and explore the wonders of all the wildlife and landscapes around them.

Kids can uncover the beauty of the sanctuary as you make your way around the 2 and a half mile boardwalk that will take you on an adventure through pine flatwoods, a wet prairie, a marsh, and even into the largest old growth Bald Cypress forest in North America. 

You're in Florida, and you're in nature, so yes, there will be an abundance of alligators, so keep an eye out! As well as those famous snap happy friends, you might just spot some otters, red-bellied turtles, wading birds, raptors and even white-tailed deer. 

There are interpretive signs along the boardwalk to give you some extra information on everything you see around you, which is great for additional learning. If that 2.5 mile trek is a bit too long for you, there is even a 1 mile short cut if you want to use that. They have thought of everything!

If you want to make your way around the boardwalk with a guide, the Corkscrew Swamp Sanctuary offer complimentary guided walks at 10:30am on most days from November to the end of March, and 9:30am from April to the end of October.
