It's a WILD day out in Colorado with the Colorado Wolf and Wildlife Center, where kids can experience amazing animal encounters that they won't ever forget!

The Colorado Wolf and Wildlife Center let's you get up close to some incredibly beautiful creatures, and yes - this includes the adorable wolves.

Here, you can walk with their experienced and knowledgable guides, and really gain and understanding of what makes these creatures so unique. Kids will also learn that invaluable lesson of why it's so important to preserve our diminishing wildlife - something so important!

The Colorado Wolf and Wildlife Center offer a number of tours that you can choose from to give your family the perfect family day out. 

You get to enjoy a personalized one hour walking tour through the sanctuary, where they can guarantee you get a close up view of these majestic animals! Amazing!

This Standard Tour gives kids the chance to also meet coyotes and foxes, and learn all about the history and biology of these creatures.

Animals get hungry too, so why not join in the Feeding Tour where you get to enjoy the guided educational tour AND see your guide feed those hungry animals. 

Kids over 8 years can have their taken with a young red fox, where they can actually pat them and interact with them! Those over 18 years can have the same experience but with an adult wolf - be prepared, you might just get a few kisses too!

The wolves that call this sanctuary home each wolf each have their own story. Some are rescues, some from other sanctuaries, and some from zoos. The sanctuary was set up so families just like yours can learn the importance of these amazing creatures in our eco-system, as well as to care for these creatures who can no longer live in the wild.

Doing our bit

They are one of the few sanctuaries in the USA that have been certified by the AZA. They also practice eco-friendly ethics with biodegradable trash bags, and participating in recycling programs.

Any top tips when visiting?

You have to make sure you book ahead. Also check the times before you book as each tour has their own schedule. You select your time when you book. Make sure you arrive at least 15 minutes early.

Does Colorado Wolf and Wildlife Center have a gift shop?

Some tours offer you photographs to take home so you can remember your experience!
