Catawba Science Center
About Catawba Science Center
Science CAN be fun for kids, especially if they learn through interactive exhibits where they can create, experience, and discover with their very own hands and eyes!
The Carawba Science Center is ALL about kids learning, and they have permanent exhibits that allow kids to explore a range of topics, from Natural and Earth sciences, to the natural and physical.
There are interactive exhibits too that change across the year, so you can go back to your favorites, and find something new at the same time!
The permanent exhibits are so much fun for kids! In Germ Zone they can learn all about diseases, and how to prevent them. Watch out for the sneeze from the giant nose!
Kids can explore space and the surface of Mars using a very cool robotic arm, and even view live images of the solar system straight from the Hubble Telescope!
At the Carawba Science Center, kids can even create and launch rockets, or power a TV - it must be Energy Avenue!
If it's feeling a little windy inside, you must have found Tornado Simulator, where you can experience 78mph of fun. Hold on tight!
Ever seen sharks in a science center? You have now! Head on over to the freshwater and saltwater exhibits in the very cool aquarium, and kids can actually engage in a marine touch pool with LIVE sharks and stingrays!
With the Millholland Planetarium there to enjoy as well, with a state of the art theater and 30 ft dome images of the sun and planets, and the chance to explore the rings of Saturn, kids will almost forget they're learning once they're done!
Science is almost TOO fun at the Carawba Science Center - let's go!
