Cameron Park Zoo
About Cameron Park Zoo
Cameron Park Zoo is a place where you can get soaked by a practical-joke playing orang-utan, stand with only a glass pane between you and the impressive clownfish, and where you can look face to face with Sam. Who's Sam? Only the king of the jungle!
They even have dragons! Well, not the fire breathing ones you would be used to in the fairytales, but Komodo Dragons. Perhaps you will hear the beating wings of bats as you admire the enclosures!
Cameron Park Zoo allows the animals to be surrounded by lush vegetation, and features weird and wonderful creatures native to North America, as well as exotic species from the rest of the world. Animals can thrive and live happy lives in their natural habitats and playful environments.
There are over...wait for it...1700 individual animals! How long do you think it would take you to go round and have a look at them all? These make up over 300 different species that you can enjoy at the zoo.
Take a stroll through the African Savanna and meet the giraffes, elephants, and rhinos. You can even say hello to a dik-dik. Never heard of them? Only one way to find out what they are!
Or perhaps you want to enjoy the South American creatures, with Galapagos Tortoises and king vultures. Pretty cool!
When kids need to recharge before enjoy more of the critters and creatures in the zoo, they can enjoy a fun adventure playground where they can get wild themselves - even cool down a little in the splash area!
They even have special activities for kids, as well as animal encounters where they can get up close to super cute creatures and learn about them and the conservation work being done to make sure they can keep a happy home!
It's wild!
