Thousands of butterflies, both tropical and local, call this Colorado Butterfly Pavilion and Nature Center home!
This very colorful family day out destination is home to thousands of butterflies from around the globe, where kids can see up close these beautiful creatures, and learn all about their life.
Not only that, across the number of exhibits you might find yourselves face to face with a lot more than just the butterfly. Are you intrigued?
From finger-length zebra longwings to hand-sized paper kites, the Butterfly Pavilion have more than 50 different species at any given time. The Wings of the Tropics exhibit allows the family to walk among free-flying butterflies in a tropical paradise.
Throughout the 7,200 sq ft rainforest, not only are there countless butterflies but also over 200 plant species from ALL over the world. It's climate controlled, so whether you're trying to escape the cold Colorado winter, or enjoy some humidity in that dry Colorado summer, this is the place for you!
We told you that there were more than just butterflies to encounter, and we weren't kidding!
The Crawl-A-See-Em exhibit introduces you to Rosie the tarantula, as well as other species of arthropods. Kids can have fun trying to spot those animals hidden in their native habitats too!
Kids can learn all about the diversity of underwater invertebrates at the Water's Edge exhibit, as well as Invertebrate World.
On those beautiful days, why not get outdoors and explore the outdoor gardens and nature trails, discovering the lifecycle of the Colorado ecosystem.
