About Black Hills Wild Horse Sanctuary

Kids, close your eyes - can you imagine a place where for miles and miles, right to the horizon, all you can see are flowing rivers, rocky canyon walls, and eagles soaring overhead?

You can imagine what the USA looked like 300 years ago, as the wild horses ran free across the endless prairies. But what if a horse was ill, or needed help?

Well today, we have the answer - the Black Hills Wild Horse Sanctuary - and YOU can be a part of it's story with amazing animal encounters!

Here, you can visit the horses' grassland home of rocky canyons, wind swept prairies, and dark pine forests, a home they share with coyotes, cougar, white-tail and mule deer, elk wild turkeys, eagles and falcons.

This sanctuary is a home where hundreds of wild horses not only live but flourish, as they are well cared for and can run free. There are a number of tours you can join that not only give you the amazing experience on the sanctuary, but your support also helps the sanctuary stay alive!

Those budding photographers in the family can enjoy a 3 hour Photography Tour, where early morning or late afternoon you can get snap happy with the camera, up close and personal to these beautiful creatures.

You can also book a 2 or 3 hour tour that will take you around the sanctuary, where kids can learn all about these beautiful creatures. The 2 hour tour is a fun walking tour, where the 3 hour tour takes you on an SUV in a fun cross country safari!

If you really want to extend your stay, they offer overnight tours too!

So why not have a WILD family day out in the Black Hills with the Black Hills Wild Horse Sanctuary, and have an adventure you won't be forgetting in a long time!
