Big South Fork Scenic Railway
About Big South Fork Scenic Railway
The K&T Special Ride the 16 mile round trip upon the 100 year old, Kentucky & Tennessee Railway. Known as the "Route of the Painted Rocks," and today preserved by the Daniel Boone National Forest and Big South Fork National River and Recreation Area, this ride is full of spectacular vistas, lush vegetation and free flowing mountain streams as it descends 600 feet into the river gorge. The Big South Fork of the Cumberland River and remnants from the communities that once lined the railway now serve as reminders of days gone by.
