Every area in the USA has a story, including where you are standing right now! The Andrew County Museum was created to give families just like you an insight into the fascinating history of their own county - from towns, social life and even farm life.

Through a number of exhibits, events and programs, the Andrew County Museum gives a greater understanding of just how amazing the area was!

A Rural Way Of Life is a permanent exhibition at the Andrew County Museum. This interesting experience tells the story of the people who lived in the county, and the places within the county lines.

You can read all about the community spirit, the farms, the towns, the families and even their social life. Kids - how different is it to what you know now!?

It's an amazing way to gain a real insight into what life would have been like through history, right on the spot you are standing.

The Duncan Gallery within the museum is where the rotating exhibit are held. These exhibits cover a range of fascinating topics, and past/current exhibits include amazing fossils of native animals that once roamed the area, to the first radios and telephones used in the county.

There are exhibits on local business, such s Harry Duncan's Little Tavern, collections of Kewpie dolls, and insights into names and faces of the people that made Andrew County what it is today.

The museum occasionally holds events across the year too, so check back so you don't miss out!

Teachers corner

They hold Museum Mondays which are fun 50 minute programs presented in the museum for grades 3 to 6. You need to register.
