The African American Museum of Southern Illinois is an invaluable museum to identify, preserve, and portray outstanding achievements in African American history and culture. Located in University Mall, you can explore a number of permanent exhibits that tell the story of African American heritage through artwork and artifacts, including slave artifacts.

The museum also has rotating displays that cover a range of topics, from railroad history, to a focus on local artists. You can plan your next visit around the next rotation!
