About Winnipeg Police Museum
Winnipeg Police Museum continues to add to its collection and grow in size. It welcomes visitors to the Winnipeg Police Academy where it is open daily and also provides conducted group tours during the day or early evening.
The purpose of the museum is to collect materials relating to the local police services and to promote and research the history too whih will educate the public in police history. You'll walk through Winnipeg police history and you can opt to tour on your own or get some of the knowledgeable volunteers to guide your around, with personal stories and tales along the way.
The exhibits include tributes to offices from 1874 to the present day, with try crime displays on some of the most notorious criminals! Great if you're an avid true crime fan! You'll see early equipment such as handcuffs, clubs, firearms, tools and more, with mug shots and equipment worn by past speciality units.
You can take selfies throughout the museum, including the mugshot station, inside an origina 1911 jail cell and as a passenger in the 1925 REO police patrol otherwise known as the Paddy Wagon.
