About UBC Aquatic Centre

The UBC Aquatic Centre offers both an outdoor and indoor public facility located on the campus of the University of British Columbia, next to the War Memorial Gym and Student Union Building. Drop in for swimming, fitness classes, lessons, diving and so much more for all ages and abilities.

The centre offers many different lessons. There is a parents and tot 1 class, which provides an orientation to water for infants and paperents and carers. They'll teach parents and carers how to swim safely with their infant in the pool through a number of holds and supports. Infants will be introduced to getting their face wet, blowing bubbles and floating too!

As your child's age increases you'll then be giving the opportunity to move up onto the next classes. Where the children will learn kicking skills, starish and pencil floats, opening eyes underwater and get in and out of the water and so much more to build their confidence when it comes to swimming!

The pool itself features a 15 metre recreational pool with diving boards and ramps, a 50m competition pool with a lazy river, 34 person family friendly hot tub, steam room, sauna and lots of viewing and spectator decks too.
