Teslin Tlingit Heritage Centre

The Teslin Tlingit Heritage Centre welcomes visitors to participate in the day-to-day life of the Tlingit people whose traditions are reflected in every aspect of the facility. Ha Kus Teyea Celebration will bring Tlingits and Visitors from around the world to celebrate Tlingit traditions and be a continuation of that long and rich tradition of families and friends gathering reconnecting and sharing traditional foods and celebrating Tlingit culture in the warmth of long sunny days of the Yukon summer.

Visit their exhibit or spend time with the on-site cultural demonstrators, tast their homemade bannock and talk to the staff to learn more about the culture. The Gallery provides a showcase for modern and traditional art and culture and the gift shop offers arts and crafts that are made by local Tlingit artisans and other unique gift items. 

The demonstrators will share their experience and wisdom in cleaning, tanning and sewing with moose hide, having worked with moose hide nearly all their life. You'll be shown the step by step process of tanning a hide and the beautiful products that you can make.
