St Lawrence Shakespeare Festival
About St Lawrence Shakespeare Festival
The annual St. Lawrence Shakespeare Festival offers nearly six weeks of Shakespeare performances along the banks of the St. Lawrence River in a beautiful riverside amphitheatre. There is something truly magical about watching the sun set and the moon rise over the water behind the stage!
Stroll through the banks of the river and admire the plants and flowers from Shakespearean plays, just a short distance from the amphitheatre. The festival works with the local community to provide performances that are accessible and professional, as well as creating a home for the summer for the artists that are passionate about Shakespeare.
From the Twelfth Night to The Tempest, there's lots of performances throughout the Summer for everyone to enjoy. Remember, afternoon performances can get really hot so bring an umbrella for a bit of shade! As it's an outdoor theatre there may also be some rain too, but if there is a shower, they'll provide some umbrellas for you to use. They'll only pause the show if there is a thunderstorm or really heavy rainfall, so please check the weather before you arrive.
