About Pioneer Acres of Alberta
Pioneer Acres of Alberta is one of the largest industrial history museums in Alberta with thousands of artifacts to explore! It shares the stries from the beginning of settlement to present day and is a must visit for all ages who want to learn more about the history of Alberta.
The extensive collection of machinery and transportation equipment is on display, as well as a variety of household, business and personal artifacts that represent the areas history. There are over 20 buildings on 50 acreds of land in total and includes visitor services, gift shops and more. Most of the equipment is demonstrated throughout the summer, especially at their annual show which happens every August. The Steam Building has a massive vertical boiler and two steam engines for you to discover as well as a blacksmith shop and a stionery engine building.
Head back in time and experience life on the gfarm and how people produced food over one hundred years ago. You can head round the site on your own or one of the staff members will happily show you around and answer any questions you may have. There's lots of hands on sensory learning for all ages frm smelling the linseed oil to listening to the model trains!
