Museum of Health Care connects visitors with the experience of people in past times and provides context on today's health issues. How did students learn about the human body without microscopes or x-rays in the 1700's? Learn about these things and more at the Museum of Health Care! During the summer months, walking tours covering epidemics, Canada's first Parliament building and a real Victorian-era operating theatre!
There's lots of onsite exhibits for you to explore. The Skin You're In is held in the children's gallery and it's about the skin! Try some hands-on activities, explore the books and make art to take home. The Quack exhibit brings images of back-alley doctors that fool people and explore the most extreme cases in history and beyond.
The Trench Menders explores the health care during the first world war, views photos of veterans who served in the medical corps and real all about the history and stories.
There's lots of education programs too which can be linked to the curriculum, as well as summer camps and community group events. They're all led by the enthusiastic staff that will bring the healthcare stories to life for you!
