About Mill of Kintail Conservation Area

Mill of Kintail Conservation Area is a family-oriented destination, home to the R. Tait McKenzie Memorial Museum, and contains 154-acres of field and forest along the Indian River in Mississippi Mills. Explore this natural treasure year-round along the 7 km trail network.

The mill boats lots of picnic areas and large covered shelters which are next to the playground and basketball court. You can visit the museum in the summer months to learn more about the area's two most national historic figures.

The trails are open all year round from dawn to dusk and there are lots for all abilities. There's the forest hike trail which is 2.9km, riverside trail which is 0.6km and the small Mackenzie walk trail which is 0.2km, so something for all levels of fitness!

There's scenic lookouts to take in the views as well if you need a breather!

The passes need to be purchased in the conservation area and are valid for four hours. In the summer you'll find day camps, education programs, wheelchair accesible basketball court, playground and in the winter you can head out on snowshoe trails!
