Found within Gitxan territory, Ksan Historical Village and Museum stands where the village of Gitanmaax has excisted for centuries. As a replicated ancient village, Ksan illustrates many features of a Gitxsan village from the distant past.
The Gitxsan live within the Northern Coasts and are located on the Skeena River and it's tributaries above the Kitselas Canyon. The Gitxsan people numbers around ten sounda around the world today, with almost 3500 who call this area hole. Their livelihoods include educators, professionals, fishment, loggers and many other professions.
The Gitxsan were able to establish permanent villages where familied lived together and they encourage all visitors to come and learn the ways of the people and the history too. At the Ksan Historical Village and Museum, there are trained storytellers waiting to you all about the history of who the Gtxsan were and who they are today.
