About Kluane National Park and Reserve
A gem in the family of Parks Canada's national treasures, Kluane National Park and Reserve of Canada covers an area of 21,980 square kilometres. It is a land of precipitous, high mountains, immense icefields and lush valleys that yield a diverse array of plant and wildlife species and provides for a host of outdoor activities. Kluane National Park and Reserve is also home to Mount Logan (5959 m/19,545 ft), Canada's highest peak.
The park is home to 17 of Canada's highest peaks and is known worldwide for its wilderness recreation! You can raft past glaciers on the Alsek River, explore high mountains on multi-day treks or for beginners you'l find some more accessible trails near Kathleen Lake.
In Winter, there's lots to do! Enjoy cross country skiing, ice-fishing, snowshowing, dog sledding and much more for some fun filled winter activities. Kathleen Lake provides activities all year round. From the o.5km wheelchair accessible boardwalk or take a boat onto the lake for a relaxing trip. There's also a spacious day shelter where you can set up a picnic for a scenic view of the mountain peaks.
There's also campsites here too if you wish to extend your stay. With drinking water, firewood, lockers and more, there's everything you need on site to ensure you stay is a comfortable one!
