At the Dundas Museum & Archives, discover Dundas from the time of the glaciers’ slow carving of the valley through to today’s vibrant community. The experiences and impact of individuals along the way come alive through objects used in their every day lives. We invite you to visit and explore the stories of people and events that have shaped the Valley Town.

The museum has brought people otfether for years! The collections, exhibits and events showcase how history has unfolded in the Dundas Valley. It's a place to learn and discover and you find fascinating facts and heritage education to inspire you. The museum has more than 16,000 artifacts and over 30 emtres of documents spanning the entire history of the valley. From the 150 million year old crystals to photos from 2010 to memories of the Covid-19 pandemic. The resources tell us stories of how we used to live and who we have become over time. 

There are everyday objects such as tools, toys and furniture to fashion, to decorative and final arts. The archival collections includes historical recorfs, letters, diaries and maps which give a glimpse into the activities and thoughts of people from the last 200 years. 

The education centre is a gathering place that has the a state of the art audiovisual system, combined with the Victorian architecture to allow visitors to get some first hand experience.

Is Dundas Museum & Archives fully accessible?

The rear Albert Street entrance features a gradual ramp and a button-operated door. Once inside the Museum’s atrium, an elevator is available for visitors to access all levels of the facility. Should you require assistance, a staff member will be glad to help.
