About Discovery Harbour
Discovery Harbour, on scenic Penetanguishene Bay, will take you back in time to the presence of British naval and military forces in Central Ontario. Come and explore this recreated, 19th century community on the southeast corner of Georgian Bay.
The harbour traces its roots back to after the way of 1812 and is an attraction of the Ministry of Heritage, Sport, Tourism and Culture Industries. The HMS Tecumseth Centre is an exciting addition to the Discovery Habour. It offers a visitors a chance to see the original 1815 hull of HMS Tecumseth. There are lots of new exhibits around too, including numerous artifacts from the sits 19th century histor, including deck lights, period coins, powder flashs and compasses.
They also offer school trips too and provide interactive learnings for all ages. Take your students back to the 19th century, on the actual site where British warships docked and experience the lives of sailors and soldiers.
You'll also find special events too. From Pumpkinferno where you'll stay in the comfort of your veichle and drive through the pumpkins, lights and sights! There's also a special effects walk in, performers, haunted ships with lots of candy and hot chocolate to go round too! Make sure to keep an eye on their website for all of the latest events.
