Craft Council
About Craft Council
Art and crafts are something that there is never right or wrong with, so it's always such a great medium for kids to explore! The Craft Council in St. Johns was created to support and promote art in the community, and through exhibitions and open studios, they have done just that!
If you are inspired by what you have seen at the Craft Council, then head to one of the open studio sessions! These are for ANYONE who wants to drop in and be creative!
There's no need to book, but there is some experience in working with clay necessary. If you don't have that experience, then just look at their pottery classes that you can join! There are even pottery for beginner classes, perfect for those over 16 years wanting to learn the ropes!
If you would rather just look, instead of making the artwork yourself, then Craft Council have a range of exhibitions that will inspire you just as much!
The exhibitions are always changing, and focus on specific techniques and artists. Younger kids will love looking at all of the colors, and the older kids will begin to appreciate the techniques and meaning.
It's also a great way for kids to realize that art doesn't just have to be about painting!
Craft Council occasionally have holiday related exhibits, and ones geared towards those little ones who have a sense of wonder!
Watch out for the craft fairs too - they are always great family fun! Be inspired in St, Johns!
