About Burnaby Village Museum
Burnaby Village Museum is where history comes to life! Stroll down the streets of the1920s BC Electric Railway tram stop community. The village is a combination of heritage and replica buildings on a 10-acre site. Period costumed townsfolk welcome visitors and give demonstrations in the homes, businesses and shops. Popular stops include the blacksmith, the print shop, the garden at the farmhouse and the General Store.
The museum invites visitors to join and learn and share history on a journey of discovery at the museum! There's lots to see and do for all ages and the whole family to enjoy. The children's exhibit is for younger ones to explore cultural objects in a hands-on way in the kids conservation lab.
The virtual reality exhibit takes you on a journey across the pacific as you explore the Chinese-Canadian's farming experiences and immigration patterns since the late 1800s.
The museum collects everything from buildings to buttons. The objects all tells the story about the past, present and future.
