Kids, are you ready to actually step back in time? At Black Creek Pioneer Village, you can do just that and transport yourselves back to the 1860s as you explore an authentically re-created Ontario country village!
It's at Black Creek Pioneer Village wher you can discover 40 historic buildings which will really help you understand how people lived all those years ago. Also at the Black Creek Pioneer Village you can meet 70 rare and heritage breed animals, AND you can explore 10 gardens featuring flowers and plants from heirloom seeds.
Don't miss the exciting programs for all ages too!
During your historic day out, kids can meet costumed educators who not only demonstrate various trades and crafts that were common in 1860s Ontario, but they can also get involved too!
They can tap their toes to music of the times, and enjoy various hands-on activities throughout the village!
Black Creek Pioneer Village is also home to an incredible collection of 50,000 artifacts, plus they host monthly events that encourage all who visit to explore the past whilst reflecting on the present.

Does Black Creek Pioneer Village have a gift shop?
The Gift Shop carries a number of unique items. Many are handmade by local artisans. Be sure to stop by and pick up a memento of your visit to the Village! The shop is open Wednesdays to Sundays 12pm - 4pm
All sales at the Gift Shop support Black Creek Pioneer Village operations.
Teachers corner
Black Creek Pioneer Village offers education programs suitable for all grade levels, all year round. All of the programs are based on the Ontario curriculum for Social Studies, History, Environmental Studies, The Arts, and Health and Physical Education.
Is Black Creek Pioneer Village fully accessible?
The Black Creek Pioneer Village entrance is located through the main electronic doors of the Visitor’s Centre. A drop-off circle is located in front of the main doors for any drop-off or pick-up needs at the village.
There are wheelchair accessible parking spaces in the Black Creek parking lot, located approximately 80 metres from the Visitor’s Centre. A paved slow grade sloped path leads from the parking lot to the Visitor’s Centre.
A support person accompanying a person with a disability receives free admission at a maximum ratio of 1:1.
