About Bella Coola Valley Museum
The Bella Coola Valley Museum (BCVM), owned and operated by the Bella Coola Valley Museum Society, was established in 1963 to outline the human history of the Bella Coola Valley from European Contact to 1955. The museum’s historic building (circa 1892) operates during the summer season with school presentations offered throughout the year.
Access heritage buildings, artifacts and interpretive exhibits here at the museum! You can book a pre-arrange historic presentation which will be presented by a local historian, with lots of historic videos to show you along the way. If you prefer to have a guided tour then these are available or you can head round on your own if you prefer!
The Freedom Road Exhibit is complete and include a permanent black and white photo exhibits and s small travelling exhibit for use in public spaces too. They have also created a Digital Heritage Project where there are over 600 images added to a searchable photo collection, along with a short history too.
There are numerous school programs available which are delivered throughout the year and can be completley tailored to the curriculum and age groups too.
