Barkerville Historic Town stands as living testament to BC's golden beginnings. There is a unique streetscape of more than 125 heritage buildings, period siaplys, museums, restaurants and shops and so much in between for the whole family to enjoy!
During the main summer season, you can enjoy a guided town tour which starts at 10am daily. You'll get an indepth look at the colourful characters of years past and are hosted by the interpreters. Experience school like never before in the authetic classroom sessions, line up at the doors and hear the ringing bells.
The Wendle House is where the baking and cooking happens and you'll get to watch how household chores were done and you may even get to try and taste a treat! There's also the cemetery tour and church services and indigenous culture sessions where you'll learn the stories and the role in the gold rush era.
As Bakerbille's location is in the mountain, in the Winter there's lots of activities. Head out snowmobiling, skiing and snowboarding and try some nordic skiing. It's the perfect destination for any winter sports fans. There's also workshops in printing press, blacksmithing and more, just get in touch with them to register your interest and book onto a heritage workshop!
