About Assiniboine Park Zoo

Winnipeg's Assiniboine Park Zoo is one of Canada's best, a collection of 1250 animals belonging to 300 species, many now threatened with extinction. Special emphasis is given to creatures of the northern latitudes many of which are indigenous to Canada though there are also some rare exotic species.

Discover the magic of the north, with the Journey to Churchill exhibit. Experience the polar bear, snowy owl, arctic fox and more! There are so many animal viewing areas, interpretive signs and displays that will tell you more about climate change and conservations. There are underwater viewing tunnels where you'll see the animals swimming and also enjoy a short feature film which tell yous all about the people and animals that live in the North.

The Animals of Asia exhibit features camels, yaks, leopards, tigers and more and you'll see them roam around! The tigers enjoy a pool, shade and there's plenty of room for them to roam as well. The Toucan Ridge is an indoor exhibit and you'll explore the tropical worlds of South and Central America. It's flowing with vegetations, birds, mammals and more!

There are so many exhbits and animals to see and explore and not only will you learn about the animals and their personalities, but the importance of conservation, climate change and protecting the environment.
