About Art Gallery of Peterborough
The Art Gallery of Peterborough, incorporated in 1974, is a non-profit public gallery dedicated to exhibiting and collecting visual works of art. Our goal is to present contemporary visual art by artists from the immediate area, region and nation. Some historical and international work is also shown.
All of the exhibitions are supported with programs including lectures, workshops and publications and each piece of work is selected carefully, whether it's in the main gallery or in the smaller areas. The gallery is a meeting place that inspired creativity and promotes the art.
Every Sunday of the month, the team creates a free, seasonally themed art activity kits. Each kit comes with all the materials you need and is suitable for most ages, so don't forget to pick one up! The Saturday art Club is great for children interested in art, as they join the gallery on an exploration-based program. The instructors will lead the activities are designed to support your child's interests and talents.
They also run a Winter art camp, which is a three day program which will teach children how to paint, printmaking, drawing techniques as well as taking inspiration from the current exhibitions on at the gallery.
