About Art Gallery of Algoma
Art Gallery of Algoma is the premier cultural institution in Northern Ontario for visual arts, that aspires to gain national recognition. The AGA is a public gathering place that celebrates and preserves cultural expression and celebrates culture, educates visitors and enriches lives through visual art.
There are a number of exhibitions on display at the gallery. One of which is the sculpture park, which features a range of contemporary works by Candian and America artists, located alongside the historic St Mary's River. The outdoor display honours Elsie Savoie's contributuon to the founding of the gallery and is a key cultural destination.
Every Saturday through November and December there are the popular Woodland Arts workshop series, led by local inigenous arts instructors. You'll be guided through the process of creating your own drawings and paintings in the woodland art style and will bring community members into the gallery and introduce a new style of art!
