You might want to visit the Anderson Farm Museum for the history, but you might just visit for the view! Whatever reason you visit, you know you'll have a super fun time with family, at what was one of the largest dairies in the Sudbury area during the 1920s and 30s!
Today, Anderson Farm Museum has been developed to preseve the rich history of not only the farm but of the surrounding community.
During your visit at the museum, you'll see the actual farmhouse that was built in 1914, where the Anderson family themselves lived whilst operating the dairy! That's not all though! The barn and the milk house are also on display, so you really will be walking through history!
Your time at Anderson Farm Museum will see you learn all about Frank and Gretta Anderson who were actually Finnish immigrants, and were married back in 1901. They had 6 children, and you can actually walk around their farmhouse with 9 rooms, including their kitchen that was added to the original house in the 1920s, as well as the parlour and living room.
As you walk around, you can just imagine what family life would have been like! What would the sounds and the smells be like? What would their conversations have been life? What do you think they would have enjoyed around the dining table?
You can even laundry display in the kitchen addition shows the progression of the chore through the year, and try out a century own weave with your very own hands!
