About Timbertown
Ready to step back in time and experience Timbertown?
Timbertown is not just a heritage village, although that is a big part of it! It's also a place where kids can enjoy a number of activities, and parents can enjoy the shopping!
It's set among 87 stunning acres of natural forest, and is actually an entire village! It literally will be like you are in living history. The horse and carriage still runs past you down the roads, the timber is still sawn in the mill nearby. The bullock team still hauls those heavy loads.
What would a heritage village be without that distinctive smell of those steam engines, the smell of that freshly sawn timber, or those home style cooked meats coming through the windows of the nearby house.
Kids will love the sweet animal nursery where they can visit all the farm animals and enjoy some time playing with them.
The heritage railway is a fun ride for the whole family, where all the profit goes straight back into the upkeep of the trains.
The sawmill opened in 1943 to process timber and is the original steam sawmill.
Kids - every played on an old fashioned playground!? The heritage playground has knouts and crosses, and fun cut out characters to have your photos taken. How does it compare to playgrounds of today? Are they just as fun?
They also ensure they have daily shows, whether it be music or showing how a trade of yesteryear worked.
A fascinating and fun look into the past for the whole family!
