Spinnaker Park
About Spinnaker Park
It's park time - and that means finding a spot where you can enjoy the sun, the shade, and all the great activities to be had without breaking the budget. So why not head to Spinnaker Park! This Queensland park was opened in 2001, and is now the premier recreation area of Gladstone City - so join the many other families who have had a great time here!
With 2.5 km of walking tracks, it's a great idea to bring those hiking shoes and get out there with the family and keep the kids active. The tracks are also educations, and lead right along the ocean wall, so kids will be learning at the same time. You can't get much better than that!
You will head through various terrains like native wetlands and ponds, so it's an exciting and interesting place to explore. As well as walking, Spinnaker Park is also perfect for riding and rollerblading.
We know how hot those Queensland days get, so bring those cossies as there is a beached cove perfect for that dip on a warm day. Make a day of it by taking advantage of the BBQs and picnic areas available.
There are plenty of grassy areas for the kids to play around on, so bring Frisbees and other fun games - then there is a great chance they will head home exhausted!
So why not keep your next family day out simple, and just have a park day - and when you have somewhere like Spinnaker Park that is SO much more than just a park, it makes sense to!
