Kids, we're sure you have heard of the Royal Botanic Gardens Victoria, haven't you? Of course you have! They play a leading role in the conservation of plants, to help rare and endangered species, and protect the environment.
The Royal Botanic Gardens Victoria are made up of two diverse sites, and one of those is in Cranbourne! So yes, today for our family day out we're off to the Royal Botanic Gardens Cranbourne!
Spend your family day out strolling through the many plants, flowers, landscapes, and living plant collections. All of these collections are renowned for their beauty, heritage and scientific interest.
At the centre of the Royal Botanic Gardens Cranbourne is The Australian Garden, with 170,000 Australian native plants all featured in contemporary displays.
The garden is also surrounded by remnant bushland and wetlands, just teeming with wildlife and plant life too! There are also several walking trails of varying length, a bike trail, and a designated woodland picnic area.
Throughout the year the gardens host activities, programmes and events too, often in the school holidays and geared at families, so worth checking up on!
