Questacon
About Questacon
Science and technology made incredibly fun for kids! Questacon is a staple for all Aussie kids, where they can engage with science in fun, fascinating and extraordinary ways with over 200 interactive exhibits within eight galleries. Whatever the age, they have something for you!
For those really little potential scientists up to 6 years old, the Mini Q is a custom-built area perfect for those growing minds. This is a permanent exhibition where kids can imagine themselves as astronauts, or space scientists as they explore mass, fluids, magnification, or even polarised light! They have created an incredibly stimulating environment for babies, toddlers and pre-schoolers as the area was designed with advice from early childhood educators (we wouldn't expect anything less!)
They can let their bodies and brains develop with all the sensory exploration spaces, so they can become better adapted for learning later in life. Amazing!
Q Lab looks at the world differently, where kids can explore microscopes and high speed, high definition slow-motion, as well as fascinating live demonstrations - perfect for those kids 7 and up.
Questacon also has Wonderworks for kids 4 and up, where they can explore colour, movement and sound, as well as Awesome Earth for kids over 8 where they can feel the force of an earthquake or feel lightning spark their imaginations! Crazy fun!
We haven't even covered HALF of the exhibits, so you can see that there is certainly a full days worth of activities for the whole family!
Don't forget that no Questacon visit is complete without watching (and of course participating in!) their presentations, like the Questacon Excited Particles performed by the science theatre troupe, or the puppet shows specially for those pre-schoolers!
So head off on your family quest - you never know what you will discover!
