About Parliament House

The Northern Territory's Parliament House opened in 1994 and is a magnificent example of tropical architecture. It's political and historical significance make it a popular educational stop for fmailies with children old enough to comprehend government, but equally it's a stunning building which is also just pleasing to explore for smaller kids..

The house overlooks the Darwin Harbour and rests on the site of the Darwin Post Office and Telegraph Station which was bombed on 19 February 1942. It opened in 1994 and is a magnificent building to look and explore.

Free brochures are available in the foyer near the front entrance to Parliament House. The brochure allows visitors to explore the public areas of the building at their leisure.
 
Free guided tours last about 90 minutes and depart from the foyer at 10:30am every Friday. 
School tours are available too throughout the week, just get in touch with them to book!
