Did you know that Kakadu National Park is actually one of the largest national parks in the entire country? Spanning nearly 20,000 acres, the park extends nearly 200 km from north to south and over 100 km from east to west.
A great place to start your journey is the Bowali Visitor Centre near the main township of Jabiru, located 250 km from Darwin when heading further into the park.
Kakadu National Park really is is a place of enormous ecological and biological diversity, and is World Heritage listed too!
Spanning from the coast and estuaries in the north through floodplains, even billabongs and lowlands to rocky ridges and stone country in the south, there is so much to see.
Home to a range of rare and endemic plants and animals, (including more than one-third of the country's bird species and one-quarter of its freshwater and estuarine fish species), Kakadu National Park really is a place not to be missed!
