About Herdsman Lake Discovery Centre

The WA Gould League Manages the Herdsman Lake Discovery Centre within the Herdsman Lake Regional Park. Situated on the edge of Herdsman Lake. Family suitable activities include bird walks, information nights, night stalks and wildlife excursions. All kinds of nature experiences are available for everyone!

Visit Herdsman Lake Discovery Centre to meet the wildlife that makes its home in a beautiful wetland just minutes from Perth. School groups, community groups, and the public can reconnect with nature in a unique setting.

There are living and static displays of ecology, an observation deck and a raised viewing boardwalk plus an activities room.

In the surrounding parkland there are playground facilities, a wildlife viewing centre, the lake, grassed parklands, and kilometres of walking and cycling tracks.

Noogenboro (Herdsman Lake) is situated in Mooro Nyoongar Boodja – Mooro people’s land, which is a part of the Wadjak Nyoongar territory. The traditional Aboriginal landowners of this land are recognised. In addition, we recognise the Nyoongar people's unique connection with their land, their valuable contribution to local community and cultural life, and their relationship with Noogenboro.
