About Geelong Botanic Gardens

Nature is such a great way to spend your family day out, and if you're in Geelong, you don't even need to leave the city!

Geelong Botanic Gardens is filled with nature, plants and colourful flowers which the kids always love.

The Geelong Botanic Gardens are important, because first and foremost they conserve plants from all around the world. They have actually been looking after plants and giving families a great time for the last 150 years - that's a lot of family fun!

If you love history, then that's even better, because the gardens are actually on the register of the National Estate because they are an incredible example of 19th century Victorian Botanic Gardens.

Families, the Geelong Botanic Gardens LOVE having you there too, which is why they have a host of family activities during the School Holidays. They have themed programs that highlight plants and their stories, with discovery trails, hands-on activities and lots of learning! They announce the programs themselves just before the holidays start.

Of course, if you're there for gardens, you have plenty to choose from! There are also lovely areas to stroll through.

There is a beautiful Rose Garden Lawn, as well as a Conservatory. The Forgotten Garden is always an experience, and there is a Temperate Garden too.

Kids will have a great sensory experience with all the scents and the colours too!

Get back to nature in Geelong with this great garden experience.
