Experience the Wild take you to see an amazing variety of unique birdlife in monsoon forests, savannah woodlands, mangroves, wetlands and billabongs, all within an hour's drive of Darwin City. With a maximum of six passengers, you are assured of a personalized experience as you travel in a comfortable, airconditioned 4WD.

Half-Day Highlights tour takes you to habitats rich in bird-life in Darwin.

You will visit monsoon rainforest in search of the endemic Rainbow Pitta and the colourful Rose-crowned Fruit-Dove; coastal foreshores in search of shorebirds, Sacred Kingfisher and Brahminy Kite; mangroves for Red-headed Honeyeater and Collared Kingfisher; wetlands for a variety of water birds including the iconic Black-necked Stork (Jabiru); and savannah woodland for Forest Kingfisher, various Finch species and the Spangled Drongo.

The guides are passionate about the environment, local birdlife, wildlife and habitat as well as Indigenous culture and NT history and heritage.

Any top tips when visiting?

Half Day Tour inclusions: Pick-up and drop-off to accommodation, use of binoculars and spotting scope, sunscreen and insect repellent if required, morning or afternoon tea.

Is Experience the Wild fully accessible?

All tours require moderate fitness.
