Deckchair Cinema
About Deckchair Cinema
Spend an evening being entertained under the stars at Deckchair Cinema, an award winning outdoor cinema and tourist attraction for the whole family to enjoy, provided of course you pick the right movie!
Located in the Darwin Waterfront, this majestic open air cinema is open 7 nights a week from mid April to mid November. Gates open nightly, this does mean that younger ones won't make it, but on the other hand it ensures a fairly quiet screening.
The program is a diverse range of Australian, popular, family, foreign and classic films, so there's plenty of scope for finding something which suits your family, though with scenery like this it's hard to keep eyes on the screen!
The cinema has been around for more than 100 years and relocated to Darwin Waterfront in 2003.
Please check the weather before you go, as if it's raining there will be no screenings! On busy nights car park spaces can fill up quickly, so just make sure you get down there early.
