Chaffey Dam offers a flexible family day out, with swimming, sailing, boating and fishing available on the water you can make it as busy a trip as you want to, or lay back with a picnic and watch the activities.
There are water sports too, and great nature hikes for those nature lovers, as well as bush walkers.

Plus the surrounding nature reserves and parks are great for exploring and rife with fish and waterbirds for spotting.
The main purpose of the dam is to supply irrigation and stock needs in the Peel River Valley of Northern NSW, as well as supplying water to Tamworth,
